Transmission problem
1990 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 122k miles

All fluids are fine as far as I can tell (checked yesterday)

My taurus is giving me two problems.

First, accelerating from a stop especially on a hill takes a few seconds. Sometimes the car will buck slightly when changing gears, though this is rare.

Second (not sure if it's related)

If I am stopped and, say, turning I have even more trouble. I can get the car to move forward normally, and if my wheel is turned and I try to continue accelerating it feels almost like a loss of power - I can hear the engine rev but the car just doesn't move any faster for a few seconds. Straightening the wheel helps.

Thank you so much!
