Yes I have a 89 ford taurus I bought it from someone for 750 dollars. It had a house light switch hooked up to the cooling fan and running into the car and mounted to the dash. Shortly after I bought the car it went out it burnt it up. So I went and bought a 50 amp toggle switch from auto zone it burnt up after a couple days. So I went and bought another one but this time got thicker gauge wire for it, but now it drains my battery even when its off. So I just took it out of the car and left it be and of course it overheats now. How would I wire a switch to it without problems or rewire it they cut out all the other wires. But I really need my cooling fan

Have to use a RELAY
and the switch should operate the relay
place the relay between the battery and the coolant fan motor
also if motor bad will cause a high draw and burn the wire
check coolant fan motor
