1989 Ford Taurus Rotor inside the distributor

1989 Ford Taurus 6 cyl

I took off the distributor cap so that I could replace the pick-up assembly but I couldnt get the rotor off. So how do I get the rotor off so that I can replace the assembly?

Rotor should pull off
rust maybe holding it down
replacing the pick up coil require removing the distributor and disassemble
need a pulley to do so
