I have a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge with a 4.0L V6 and 139,000km on it. The air bag light comes on and flashes for a few times and then stays on. Is there a way to reset it without a code reader. Or is it that big of a deal, I just replaced a clutch, slave cylinder, master cyclinder and yesterday it just had the emergency brake replaced and I ve only owned it for 2 months. Thanks

It's giving a code out, they're called lfc's, lamp flash codes,,, count the flashes, they're sent in two groups,,, example code 32 would be: flash flash flash....pause....flash flash,,, it may do that a few times before staying steady.. also count the flashes, it could be giving more then one code, 32,33, whatever, these code #'s are just examples.. resetting the light will not do anything if the issue still exists, if it fixes itself, the light will turn off on it's own after a pre-determined number of keystarts or warm-up cycles... those parts you replaced, especially the clutch could have been abused by the former owner, or just failed... emergency brake, is that the cable??? They tend to stick and bind within the cable housing..

Ok I checked the flashes, they are four flashes pause, six flashes pause, then repeat. It does this about 3 times then the light stays on constantly. As for emergency brake yea its the cables that are sticking. Thanks for the help

LFC 46 has something to do with the electronic crash sensor, the circuits ned to be tested to determine if it is bad,, some airbag sensors can be replaced by the driveway mechanic, however certain procedures, such mas disarming the airbag, must be followed to avoid serious injury... most online car sites don't even entertain airbag questions.. the parking brake cable issue is typical Ford,, dio you have three cables? Sometimes you can replaxce just the bad one if the others still work smoothly.. Ford used to use these pita type splineconnectors to hold the cable system in place
