courtesy door light switch

I have a 2000 ranger 4x4 extended cab the door ajar light on the dash goes on and off and so does the over head light . I cant find were the door switch is at I have looked all over the door jams with no luck

Boy, I had a tuff time finding it. It is in the door latch, to solve your problem adjust the door striker. Don't go to far are you will have to slame the door to shut it all the way. Lift your door up and down and see if you have any play in the door hinges, if you do, you will need to replace your hinge bushings before you re-adjust your door. Hope this helps.
