2005 Ford Ranger stiff ride

This Ranger is a Edge model with very still suspension.
Is there someway of getting a softer ride. It rides like a tank.

Actually, the edge comes with a firmer suspension for handeling purposes. The only thing I could think of would be to replace coil and leaf springs (expensive).
