my girlfriends truck will start and quit about a second later. if you give it some gas then start it, it will crank right up. this has happened twice, both times she filled up with gas. i thought it might be bad gas, or my friend said something about the fuel vapor return line problem, possibly letting raw fuel in. thats why i thought i would ask you guys.
thanks jason

Ok I need some info first if you would. Have checked for any vacuum leaks and when you fill up at the gas station do you leave it running or shut it off. If you leave it running it will comtaminate the EVAP system. Which makes sense see by stepping on the gas pedal you tell the computer to send no fuel till it see's a set tach speed. So get back to me with some info so we can try to fix this. Thanks

i asked her did she leave the truck running and she said no. i think i misled you on the gas pedal. when you crank the engine it would start for a brief second giving it slight rpms and then i would give it gas.the engine kinda shook a little and continued running properly. i will check the vacuum hoses and run a vacuum test on it next week. i am going out of town for the weekend and i will let you know what i find next week. if you have any ideas with the new info, let me know
thanks jason

i tested the vacuum and it was running about a steady 20, acceleration normal, which is good. as far as the mass air flow sensor. i am not sure which one it is. my chevy does not have one. it is not listed on the emissions label or in the manual. i may have to get a book unless you can describe its location. it is a 4 cylinder, fuel injected.
