2003 Ford Ranger Key Ignition

2003 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

The key ignition is locked in the on position. The power is on but the key is not in the ignition. When the key is in I am unable to start the engine and also unable to turn the power off. What is wrong??!

try lubricating the lock cylinder (where key inserts) and use a new key. if this doesn't help most likely need to replace the lock cylinder assembly.
