2003 Ford Ranger idle surging

when comming to a stop the idle will surge between 0 and 1500 rpms,two or three times and then settle in at normal idle. it will repeat this every time when stopping and after engine has come up to operating temp. thank you

clean out your throttle body and iac module, make sure the pintle moves freely.

if not or it binds then you need a new iac module.

It sounds like the problem i had. I changed the idle control valve and fixed the problem.its like 15 or 20 bucks.

check it before you replace it though!
