2003 Ford Ranger Electrical problem in steering column?

When the steering column is adjusted down, the turn signals and brake lights will not work. When the column is put back up they work fine. Also, when starting truck, door locks will engage. All this started about 3 months ago with no prior problems.

I believe you have 2 separate problems. The steering column could be a bad turn signal switch or harness leading to it in the column.

The door lock issue is probably related to the Body Control Module and will require a professional scan tool to diagnose.
