Recently the automatic door locks are locking by themselves. This has occurred in cold weather after I have started the car. They have never locked after I get in the car and recently locked me out after I started the car to warm it up. Is this a sign of a bad battery? In warmer weather they do not lock automatically.

I'm sure the battery is fine. Chances are either the switch is going bad or there is a problem with the body comtrol module (BCM). Remove the switch assembly and make sure the wires are properly connected and move them around to see if there is a short or if the switch is causing the problem. If all appears fine, then I would recommend having the BCM checked. It controls many electrical components. One is the power lock system. Also, I believe the locks should lock themself but not until you are in gear and moving.

If you have other questions, let me know. Have a great new year and thanks for using 2carpros.com.
