Open the hood and carefully inspect the drive belt and each pulley that the belt wraps around. Look for spots in the belt that have wear marks from it slipping. Alos look for tiny rubber fragments or black dust like material that is on a particular component that the belt runs. Focus on waterpump, alternater and especially the air condition compressor. If there is accumulation aroung the a/c compressor, try unpluging the electrical connector to the compressor and drive it like that for a while to see if the symptom is no longer present.
The 3.0 motor is also common for issues with the idler and serpentine belt tensior pullies.
