I have had 3 new water pumps installed on my 2001 Ford Ranger in the last 6 months and now need a 4th installed. I've had 2 different mechanics to replace and they said it was just faulty water pumps (bearings). Can the truck have a reason that this is happening or am I that unlucky?

Check the fan clutch if you can grab the blades at 3 & 9 oclock and get movement, Then that is causing the breaings to wear and water to leak past the seal. Also over tightening belt but you have a tenisioner.
Hope this helps
