Electrical problem
2001 Ford Ranger Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Manual 55000 miles

I'm trying to replace the alternator in my ford pick up. I know that I have to loosen the tensoner on the serpentine belt in order to get the belt off of the alternator. Where is the tensoner and how can I loosen it?

there should be a belt routing diagram under the hood that shows you the exact location of the tensioner and which way to turn it. it is turned with wrench on the bolt on it, normally counter clockwise
