I found out today that my ford ranger has 5 catalytic converters on it. My gosh what was ford thinking. I want to know if i can put a straight pipe with a muffler on it or do i really have to have 5 expensive converter on my ranger. Tell me that simplist way to fix this without costing over 500.00 dollars. the muffler place wants 1000.00 to fix the 3 way converters coming from the engine. PLEASE HELP

I own a Ford Ranger and it does indeed have 5 catalytic converters.

[quote:265cc53c69="rasmataz"]I don't think you have 5 catalytic converters-get help with a 2nd opinion or you'll be up for grabs-

yes, the ford had 5 cats on it. Why? because it was made in califorina. it had califorina emissions system on it. found a trusted muffler place and he showed them to my husband. Don't every buy anything made in califorina!!!
