2000 Ford Ranger Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My 2000 ranger will not come out of park unless I get under the truck and wiggle the arm on the side of the
transmission? How do I fix this?

what arm are you wiggling? sure your not hitting a wiring harness when doing this? try spraying it up with wd40 and working the shifter a bit.
