2000 Ford Ranger Oxygen Sensors

I had my check engine light tested and I was told that my O1 and O2 sensors are out. I have located them in my truck but I am not sure how to change these out. What do the wires lead to and how hard are they to change? Mechanics charge a lot compared to the parts alone. I am good with the basics, ie. Brakes, Spark plugs, and such.
Should I try?

What were the codes? Were they lean or rich codes or no swtching?

I do not remember the codes but I was told I was running rich. My gas mileage too has gone done hill! They have been bad over a year.

First thing you need to do is have the codes read, Autozone does it free, Post the results with the code number(s). Even if the service engine light is not on, there should be freeze frame data stored.
If it won't make it to Autozone, buy a cheap scanner, they can be had for 30-40 dollars, a good investment, since they cover all cars sold in the USA from 96 on.
