Engine Cooling problem
2000 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 110k miles
My truck is overheating, it seems to be fine when you are just driving around town, but after about five minutes on the highway the temperature gauge will shoot up to a dangerous level then quickly return to a normal operating temp.so I replaced the thermostat and that didn't fix the problem. I took it in to a local shop and they said the radiator was partially clogged, so that was replaced. It was still not fixed, the mechanic found that the timing cover gasket was leaking so he replaced that and I had him put a new water pump on while he had it apart, still not fixed. He has done a block test, that seemed to be fine, pulled out the spark plugs, they looked good. Also there is bubbling in the coolant reservoir after the motor is off. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
