Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello, I have a oil pan leak and was told that they would have to pull the engine to replace the gasket. I was wondering if they could drop the pan and put in a replacement gasket that works like a puzzel piece that snaps together and add a gasket sealer?
Am I a dreamer or what? Thanks Bob

Bob, Alot of mechanics wish they had something like that. The problem is that to get the old gasket off sometimes is a pain. They have to be flat so the pan can seal on the engine. Did the mechanic check the pan bolts to see if they were torqued right.
