2000 Ford Ranger oil

What type of factor oil went in the ford ranger? I had a new engine just put in it cause it was making a knocking noise in it. I think I know what kind it is but I want to be sure. Thank you. David

Usually its 5w25 but I usually run vehicles at 10w30 where I live its a bit cold up here. 10w30 is good for winter running if you live warm areas id stick 5w30.
