2000 Ford Ranger O/D light flashing

O/D light flashing. Had dealer check it out. Dealer replaced valve assembly and plate C. Drove truck approximately 10 miles and the O/D light starts flashing again and now transmission either slams into gear or seems to slip. Doing research after the fact,(I know, I know) I found that this seems a very common problem, but I haven't found any solutions. Anybody have one?

I have the same condition in my Ranger. It will work OK in D if I first go to 2-or 1 on selector, transmission works fine othewise. Tried speed senser in rear axle,did service, filter and fluid, did not help. Any suggestions?
