2000 Ford Ranger exhuast manfold glow red

i run my truck it run fine then i turn it off late it sit start it back up and the check engine light flash and the engine runs rough than the the engine light stay on. then when that happen i go gave it gas and it sounds like it going to die then the manfold is glowing redand it smells realy bad . i chang the cat and fuel pump and fuel relay and the exhusast is 2 years old
