2000 Ford Ranger BAttery Replacement

I just replaced the battery and when I turn the key I get lights etc, but when I crank it over it still clicks like the battery is bad, but it is brand new.

check and clean all battery connection and wiring .. also ground points at chassis and engine block ... and hot wire from battery to starter motor !!
