I hear the fuel pump, when ignition is on. Fuel squirts out of Schrader valve pretty good. Coil has good resistance.
The engine seems to want to start a little more when I give it some gas while cranking.
Could this still be a problem with the fuel pump, or is it something else?

Yes, it could be a fuel pump or filter problem. Have you checked the fuel pump pressure? Also, are you getting spark? Will the truck start with starting fluid?

LEt me know.
