1999 Ford Ranger cargo light

i have this truck that when i got it the dome light or the cargo lights didn't work when the door was opened. the dome light was an easy fix just needed to be replaced. but i can't get the cargo lights to work. any suggestions

The cargo lights do not work with the interior lights if you move the dimmer switch up until it clicks do they come on.
