1998 Ford Ranger replacing ignition cylinder lock

1998 Ford Ranger V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

trying to remove cylinder lock from ignition it is stuck in off with steering wheel locked can not get it out or free .don't know if I would cause more damage if I forced it out by tugging it any suggestions please?

U need to turn key to on position before you can remove the ignition cylinder
you may have to drill it
to do so
