Engine Performance problem
1998 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
Replaced the alternator cuz of staling problems. Was pulling the boat and hit traffic on the freeway. As I slowed to around 25 the engine died. Couldn't keep an idle. Once I gave it gas it ran ok. After awhile it went away. Has done this a few times to me and am getting worried. Any Ideas'?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

have a scan done just to check for any set fault codes, the light will not always come on with a fault set. i would be checking the idle control system first.then the rest of the fuel system.
