Transmission problem
1998 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
Seems to be the transmission making a clicking noise when in drive similar to the way a lifter sounds. The noise subsides when shifted to neutral or park. It does not seem to shift into first gear slowing down to a full stop until break is released.

Hi there,

I would get this investigated by a transmission specialist, as there may be an internal fault in the transmission.
