i have a 1998 ranger, i bought it with a couple issues, but not aware of them. 1st, my airbag light blinks when i start it, it blinks 2 times, pauses, then 7 times, it repeats about 3 times, then the light stays on. 2nd, the check engine light is on, it was just tuned up, but does not seem to have the power on hills, converter maybe, and 3rd, tha parking brake comes on and stays on, when u release the brake, it my or may not go out, it will sometimes come on going down the road. is this something to wory about. please advise. thanks

I'd check for trouble codes. Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free.

On a used vehicle, I check everything. Change all the filters, if it has been a while, change oil, check all fluids. Check for codes, check fuel pressure, battery and charging system.

There has been an issue with contaminated maf sensors. It overestimates airflow at idle and underestimates airflow at higher air flow. Can cause lack of power. I'm not saying replace anything, do some testing.

Your saying the parking brake lite stays on, it might be a problem with the switch or the parking brake isn't releasing all the way.
