I have a 98 Ford Ranger 4WD with the 3.0 V6 and manual 5 speed. The clutch was replaced by Ford approx 30,000 miles ago. While driving the truck, there was a loud clunk from under the floor boards and the truck stalled. After coasting to the side of the road, looking under neath I got back and started the truck. When I put it in first gear and let out the clutch it stalled again, the truck did not move. I tried the same thing in reverse but as soon as the clutch is released it stalls. I can put the truck in neutral, and release the clutch with no problems, it only stalls when in gear and the clutch is released. The clutch pedal feels fine, the gear shift feels fine and I can put the tranny in any gear, but when the clutch is released the truck immediately stalls. What can the problem be. I've never experienced any kind of problem like this before.
