I have a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT 2wd, with a 2.3L engine and 184000 miles on it. When I put the shifter into Drive, it shows on the gage that it is in 2nd gear, when I put it into neutral, it shows that it is in Drive, when I put it into reverse, it shows that it is in Neutral, etc. How do I adjust the linkage so that it shows it to be in the correct gear?
