1997 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Yesterday, my friend was driving his standard Ford Ranger when he engaged the clutch partially and his foot slipped stalling the clutch and hit something inside the truck near the clutch not knowing what it was and the truck stalled and could not be started again ...what do you think this is ? he changed the fuse which was blown and it stil would not start. Any ideas

Sounds like he broke the clutch pedal position switch...It's on above the arm, on the pedal support.
