Thermostat is a good start! May be the waterpump, I have seen the vanes actually corode. See if you can tell if the coolant is circulating. Look in the recovery bottle for swirling action.

93 f150 351, I just had the waterpump replaced about 4 months ago. Could it go bad in such a short period of time, also I though if the waterpump was bad there would be a small leakage from the weep hole on the pump? Also I flushed the radiator system out a couple months after having it put on and it was alot of rust. Should I still look into having the waterpump changed and is there anyway to test it to see if its bad?

Thanks for the reply.

I've looked in the recovery unit and I didn't see any kind of swirling motion. Is this a good thing or is it suppose to have some sort of swirling motion? Also I changed my thermostat and it still runs hot.I was wondering if perhaps it could be a faulty temp sensor?
