I have a 97 ford Ranger Ext Cab Splash that the 3rd brake light is out. I have purchased one but cannot figure out how to replace it. Does the who unit come off or just the clear plastic part. I have tried to just take off the plastic part but it does not budge and I am afraid to exert too much pressure as not to break it. I would appreciate any info on what I need to do to replace the bulb. How do I get the brake light open to replace bulb.
