In the winter, I can start my ranger, but if I cut the engine after a few minutes and try to start it again, the engine will not turn over. I usually have to let it sit for at least a half hour before I can get it to turn over again. I think there's an issue with a fuel sensor or fuel pressure regulator. If this is the case, is it a cheap fix? Do you suspect this to be the problem?

What needs to be done here is to have the fuel pressure check out to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump-if its okay problem could be coming from an ignition components such as the coil/distributor pick-up coil/ignition control module, cam and crank sensors-

Ok by it won't turn over what do you mean? Do you mean you turn the key and nothing happens or do you mean that when you turn the key the engine turns over but it won't start? Let me know and we will take it from there.

I mean the engine turns over, but the vehicle won't start. There seems to be an issue where a sensor is not guaging the appropriate fuel amount needed to start the engine. But again, after it sits cold for over a half hour it will start right up. Thanks.

Ok first we need to find out weather it is a fuel or spark problem. So when it does this I need you to remove a spark plug wire and put a screw driver in the end of it and rest it near the engine like near the valve cover area and have some one crank it over and make sure it sparks if it does then great we need to know what the fuel pressure is at the time it does this then. If does not spark then we need to find out why. Let me know what you find and we will go from there.
