1996 Ford Ranger driver window regulator replacement

Replacing the regulator requires that I drill out 3 rivets. Will I be able to replace these rivets with 1/4 inch bolts when installing the new regulator?

Yes you can, just make sure that nothing fouls the regulator or the glass through the full movement up and down.
