Electrical problem
1996 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Both door locks now only work with the remote. I have two keys that are not worn down and they will not open the locks.
I have taken the panel off on the passenger side and have discovered that a rod connected to electric door lock motor is no longer connected to the keyed cylinder. It does not look broken and the nylon connection at the end of this rod that came disconnected is just that (disconnected). I have not figgered out, how to reconnect. I tried to find a detail but have failed.

Please help.

I don't have a picture, but I will try to explaine how it works. (Please bear with me. THis isn't easy)

Place the nylon retainer on the end of the linkage so it is half way on. Next, place the linkage back to where it belongs. Now slid the nylon retainer the rest of the way on and twist it until it clasps onto the steel linkage.

LEt me know if this helps.
