I've been dealing with very loud, what seems to be exhaust noise. It does sound like it could be under the hood though. Would love to remedy this myself if all possible. What's the best thing to do to narrow my problem down?

Have someone goose the acceleterator while you poke around and look. In the shop we can put smoke into the tailpipe to expose it.

The rangers do have a bad connection point tat the converter flange and would be my first guess to start looking.

You can CAREFULLY move your hand around to feel for air movment or have another person block the tailpipe with a rag temporarily to help find it.
