Have been having trouble with 3rd gear about a year now. It's hard or sometimes won't even catch. So I pulled transmission out and rebuilt it and replaced everything. Put everything back together and it seemed to be fine but the same problem with 3rd gear. It went into 3rd once or twice and never did again. It seems the shifter runs into the dash before 3rd is in gear. Does anyone know what I can do?

This sounds more like a linkage problem than a transmission problem. Have you checked the linkage for damaged components? As far as the transmission, the shifter fork can only move the gear so far and has to stop because there is nowhere else for it to go. That is what leads me to believe the linkage is the problem.

Let me know.
