1994 Ford Ranger slow to shift/noisy

Truck driven very little, thousand miles a year.. slow to shift into reverse, clunks, now also slow to shift into drive. Cleaned transmission pan, drained and refilled fluid, replaced filter. Still same..Sometimes large clunk when in reverse..

check the rear suspension bolts and mounting

check the drive shaft bolts

damaged universal joints
