The chime continues to go off when I turn my lights on in normal operation/driving as if I accidentaly left them on after killing the engine. The chime goes off when I turn the lights off.

where should I trouble shoot first to resolve this issue?

Could a scan test - clear codes/clear abs code or replacing spark plug wires have anything to do with initally causing the problem? It started imediately after those services were done.

Check the actual switch for the lights. For a short or loose connecttion

Checking switches was a good idea. Light switch was functional. Localized the problem to the ingnition switch/ignition solinoid. I replaced that 3 years ago and rather than do so again and have to re- key the ignition, I chose to disconnect the bell that was easily accessible under the steering column & dash.
No other systems are directly affected as far as I can tell.
