I 6cyl 4x4 ranger with a little over 150k drives great except that after driving a while or stop and go traffic it grinds when going into 3rd gear. It also seems to not slide into gear easily sometimes. Is this just a transmission fluid issue or signs of a bigger problem?

Hi there,

this is sounding like the beginning of a failing syncro ring, but a transmission oil change may ease up the harsh shifting some what, start there.
