1994 Ford Ranger DTC 224 Error Code

Code 224 indicates PCM detected 1, 2, 3 or 4 primary circuit failure (dual plug electronic ignition)

Common culprit here is the coil packs. Check for healthy blue spark at each plug and plug wire. If any plug is receiving only a dull orange spark or no spark at all, replace the plugs and wires. If issue is still present, replace coil packs.
