1993 Ford Ranger water not going thru heater hoses

No heat, removed heater hoses from heater core, and water does not pump thru either hose. Radiator and thermostat has been changed. Was told the water pump needed to be changed.
Don't know what else to do.

if coolant isnt moving through any hose, chances are the water pump is no more good.

do you have a heater control valve?
