Get a real repair manual if doing it yourself, the ford ones are cheap/plentiful on ebay right now, I'd check the gear on dist 1st. If you do remove fr covr you generally don'thave to remove oil pan 1st as they often say, you can seal the bottom w/ silicone. Be aware some of these covers aren't doweled and require an "alignment" tool to get on right. If you've compression it's not the cam drive, just the distributer drive.
