What would cause the distributor gear teeth to be stripped off of the distributor gear? This stops the distributor from turning resulting in no spark.
Since replacing the transmision, this problem has occurred twice. We have replaced the distributer gear twice. The second time, we also replaced the oil pump but the problem occurred again. We've also inspected the cam gear as best as we could and it seems ok. Does anyone know what would be causing this to happen?

Check if the inner shaft is binding, you might want to replace the entire distributor this time..
