1989 Ford Ranger Can not reinstall

I have changed the clutch on the Ranger and can not get the transmission to slide back in to reconnect to the engine. Is there a secret to this. (2weekends down the tubes trying to reinstall!!!)

yep there's a secret, go to the auto parts store and buy a clutch alignment tool they are about $5 and made of plastic. then loosen the clutch up and install the disc with the tool to align it so you can put the trans in.
