Engine Performance problem
1989 Ford Ranger Two Wheel Drive Manual 120, 00 miles

Hit a big pot hole. Truck died. No spark. Found the crank position sensor had broke. Replaced with a brand new one and harm. Balancer too. Truck fired instantly, ran like a top for a minute and then as the idle started to drop, began missing a bit, then miss gets progessively worse, engine light starts to go on/off, eventually dies. Will restart. Will rev up real good, but when throttle held steady even at high RPMs, big time missing starts and runs v. Poorly. No visible blk. Smoke. Let it sit 1 hr, great start and runs A1 for a min. Or so, then repeats as above. Same thing each time. New Ig. Mod installed, TPS checked good. Ran consistently perfect B4 this. Help will be appreciated, only one vehicle, live in remote locale. Thanks, Pete from Ontario Canada.

If somethiong broke the crank sensor and damaged the balancer, it may have bounced up and done more damage. Have you checked for smashed fuel lines? Start by verifying fuel pressure with a manual gauge. Has the check engine light ever stayed on? If so have the ECM scanned for any trouble codes it may have stored. The fact it idles ok but cant hold rpm's sounds like low fuel pressure
