1988 Ford Ranger '88 Ranger Intermitent Heater Fan

The fan on my truck does not run most of the time. I have put ina new fan unit. There is no A/C. What is weird, is all of a sudden, on any given day, it starts to blow. Fuses are fine, I'm guessing something in the heater circuitry is the problem...any ideas?

At the blower motor check for power at all time with key on place switch at high and you should have ground if so the motor no good if not check the wiring need manual CHECK IT @ http://www.2carpros.com/kpages/auto_repair_manuals.htm
