1986 Ford Ranger Brake Lights

The brake lights are always on even if the pedal isn't be pressed and when the truck is off. What could the cause of this be and would it effect my hazard lights, which also just stay on (but the turn signals work fine).

for the hazards, either a faulty hazard flasher relay or faulty hazard light switch. for the brakes, suspect faulty brake light switch located on brake pedal bracket.
